I'm primarily interested in this because of the book Gordon Durand gave me, Mason & Dixon by Thomas Pynchon, where the Transit of Venus is a major plot point. Thanks, Gordon, I wasn't sure, but it turned out I liked that book very much, once I learned to catch on to the jokes. ;)
