Undo 'Close Tab' action in Safari: "There are quite a few hints here referring to Safari's capacity to undo actions such as bookmarks or downloads deleting. I just noticed you could also undo closing a tab. So if you hit Command-W too vigorously, just hit Command-Z (or Undo in the Edit menu), and your tab gets reloaded."
