Djokovic beats Tsonga to win Aussie Open (AP): "

Visitors play tennis in front of the monitor showing the live broadcasting of Australian Open tennis championship Friday Jan. 25, 2008 in Shanghai, China. The Australian Open set up a live broadcasting site outside of Australia first time from 25 to 27 Jan. to promote the Australian Open and the tennis among Chinese.

Novak Djokovic didn't have to do an impersonation this time. He's a Grand Slam champion for real. Serving notice that his rapid rise in the rankings last year was no fluke, third-ranked Djokovic ended the Cinderella story of the Australian Open by beating unseeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (2) in Sunday night's final.

Novak Djokovic started making peace with the crowd as soon as he lifted the trophy. After beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (2) Sunday night to win the Australian Open for his first Grand Slam title, Djokovic knew a little public relations was in order. True, he had kept the Rod Laver Arena crowd in stitches last week with his Maria Sharapova impersonation.
